In the tradition of the famous Mexican muralists José Clemente Orozco, Diego Rivera and David Alfaro Siqueiros, the murals painted by Manuel Valles Gomez conserve the fundamentals of this strong and symbolic technique of social commentary.
This style of art represents a form of protest against a harsh reality and gives the artist an opportunity to create his vision of the highest ideals for humanity in public places. Manuel was chosen to paint a number of murals in government buildings over the past 15 years and has participated in more than 40 individual and collective expositions in Mexico and the US.
Manuel Valles Gomez, one of the most important contemporary muralists and multi-talented artists of Mexico, creates exciting paintings in oil, acrylic and mixed media in a variety of sizes and themes. He is also well known for his original hand-carved wood masks decorated with leather, stones, shells and metal. | | |
